I came across WeHaveNoStyle blog by Iris and Daniel and my brain just froze. Their professional photos really attracted me and their style is especially something a Midwestern girl like me can't easily find. They have such an unique "WeHaveNoStyle" style ( somehow reminded me of Harajuku), but yet how they put everything together was just so out of the box. Modern yet vintage. Brave and Stand out. No word can explain.

Iris and Daniel.
San Diego, CA.
Best friends.

Tell us a lil bit about yourselves?
We’re both 19 years old from San Diego, California.Iris: I study fashion marketing and management at the Art Institute. I think the best thing about San Diego is California Burritos, to be honest.
Daniel: I’m studying journalism at San Diego State University. San Diego isn’t extremely interesting but I like that it’s usually relaxed and quiet.
What inspired you guys to start your blog?
Back in 2008, we discovered wardrobe diaries/outfit photos on Flickr along with other fashion-related blogs and were inspired to start taking photos every day during school together. We started taking full-body outfit photos on the first day of our sophomore year of high school but didn’t post them anywhere until 2010, when we started our blog, wehavenostyle.com. We decided to finally start our blog because we wanted to have something tangible to pour our creativity into and also get more involved with an online community that shares the same interests. We’re best friends and have known each other since fourth grade though!
How do you describe your fashion style?

Daniel: My style is a mixture of really simplified basic minimalism and dynamic, high impact sort of futuristic inspired styles. I mostly wear solid colors and I’m a big fan of monochromatic dressing with one shocking color on every piece. Black and white are probably the biggest staples in my wardrobe, I don’t wear too many other neutrals. There’s usually a schoolboy vibe to my more casual outfits, but for more dramatic styles I’m really inspired by the interesting volume of 50s Balenciaga and Comme Des Garcons. My favorite eras of style are 1960s mod and 1990s minimalism.
Iris: I usually like dresses or A-line skirts, but I am getting back into wearing pants again! I wear, usually, black tights with everything and they are my staple piece! I like shirts that have high necklines with collars or bows and ruffles. Going along with my love for high necked collared shirts, I barely wear t-shirts unless they are in a prettier fabric or with a funny graphic on them, like my Marni for H&M t-shirt. I like dressing like a little school girl and a cool, savvy 60s teenage girl. My fave style eras are the 60s and 90s too! For colors, I wear red probably the most often but the other colors I wear are more neutral like white, beige, navy, black.

Where do you find inspiration?
Iris: I really enjoy looking at tons of street style blogs, especially for my favorite magazine editors. Editors usually have the best style and clothes! I like to look at runway shows every season too.Daniel: I mostly find inspiration in runway images, some of my favorite designers are Raf Simons, Nicolas Ghesquierre for Balenciaga, Dior Homme, Prada, and Margiela. Also, tumblr always introduces me to loads of fashion images, so it’s a great source of inspiration.
Favorite spring/summer trends?
Daniel: is the mid-century couture trend that focuses on super voluminous silhouettes and simple minimal colors, it’s definitely the freshest and most interesting trend at the moment.Iris: Even though I haven’t worn these yet, I like the crop top and peplum trends. I just haven’t found the right shirts for them. Orange is one of my favorite colors to wear so the tangerine trend is also one of my favorites. I like the athletic trend too, since they make more feminine or minimal outfits look way cooler.

Where do you often shop?
Iris: I kinda shop anywhere, but H&M normally has things I like. I don’t often shop at them but I really love J. Crew, Anthropologie, and Kate Spade. Most of my clothes are from local thrift stores though, since they have some more variety in styles.Daniel: I mainly shop at H&M, since they’ve got pretty affordable clothes that are still interesting and cool. I wear a lot of basics that don’t come from anywhere in particular, just depends where I find them like athletic t-shirts and simple black and white pieces.
Favorite piece in your closet?

Iris: My favorite piece in my closet is my leopard coat . Even though some of the buttons fell off since I wear it too much, I like the big buttons and roomy straight pockets. I also really like the 60s shape of the coat when it’s all buttoned up.

Daniel: It’s so hard to choose! I think I’d go with my voluminous red coat because it’s perfect in every way and it was sort of an unexpected find.
What do you enjoy beside fashion blogging?
Iris: I really like to clean, organize, and decorate my room. I just got a new desk that I’m obsessed with. I like to draw people and clothes, and do water paint landscapes. I like to make collages with magazine cut outs and also on the computer in Photoshop. I love trying out cool nail designs too, sometimes I do them for other people.Daniel: Other than blogging, I like to watch documentaries and old fashion shows on the internet. I also really enjoy photography and typography. Right now, I’m also into watching a lot of movies and TV shows on Netflix since I’m on my summer break and have nothing else to do. I enjoy writing, even though I don’t do it enough.
